Running Update

It is just 5 weeks and 5 days until my half-marathon race. The only thing I can think is: I'm not ready!

I am very far from being able to run 13.1 miles. I am trying to just continue to improve. I am, after all, running further than I've ever run in my life.

The pain I experienced in the beginning seems to have eased and I am no longer limping along. I think it took a while for my bones to get used to the impact of running. I would get this odd throbbing pain from my hips down every time I ran. I ended up having to take it easy for 2 weeks doing non-impact cardio to keep myself going. Thank GOD that pain has passed!

Last night I went to a lake nearby that has a 1.2 mile track around it. I ran around it 3 times and only walked about half a mile of it. I was quite proud of myself, as 3 miles is progress from my last blog about my training!

My husband also ran with me last night and he did quite well. I just so love spending time with him. Last night as we were falling asleep, I prayed another prayer thanking God for giving me such a wonderful man.

  1. That's fantastic your going to run a half marathon! Great going! :D I wish that I could run, it's so much fun and oh so addicting. But unfortunatly with a bad back, the doctor told me to stick to walking. :( I'm thankful for what I can do though. :) So happy for the LORD's blessings in your life. :D

    Have a wonderfully blessed day!

P.S. Sorry it has taken me so long to comment! Just wanted to say thanks for all the sweet comments, and to let you know how wonderful your blog is. A great encouragement you are! :D

I love to fellowship with others and hear what they have to say. I would ask, however, that you be mindful of what you write and try to be uplifting and respectful. Thank you for sharing!
