Quote of the Week

If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.  --C.S. Lewis

One of my mottos for life is "You make time for the things that are important to you". I firmly believe that how you spend your time, then, is a reflection of what is important to you. The world is so big, and so vast, and there is so much need. We are called to be people who spread our light throughout the world, to be people who serve. When I look at my life, I hope to see that I have made time to serve others, because it is one of the things God has said should be important in the life of a Christian.

Yes, homecooked meals are great. And God has called women everywhere to be faithful wives, and good mothers. He has called us to care for our homes. But he has also said that as Christians we need to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" Matthew 28:19.

Who you you discipled recently? I am the first to say that this is a very difficult thing for me to do. I am very busy. But when I look at my life, and what I choose to spend my time on, I want God to see I spent it doing his will. Because overall, being Christ's disciples should be something we make time for.

  1. Thanks for sharing this quote Amy! Being disciples of Christ, and furthering HIS eternal kingdom, should be our number one goal in life. Somthing I need to remind my own self alot more often. Great post! :D

    Have a wonderfully blessed day!

I love to fellowship with others and hear what they have to say. I would ask, however, that you be mindful of what you write and try to be uplifting and respectful. Thank you for sharing!
