5 facts about me for my blog friends

It truly can be difficult sometime in this world to find friendships and support for living a Christian life. I certainly feel the strain of that sometimes, and it make me so grateful for all of the wonderful women I have met in the blogging world. I imagine in a perfect world we would all be neighbors, supporting and encouraging each other, making memories together, and raising our children together.

I have worried in the past about sharing too much of myself on this blog, but I think it's a little too late to worry about that. I write about some heavy things on this blog, and I have realized how important it is for you all to know the person behind the writing.

So here are 5 random facts about me:

1) I have an adventurers heart. It is a good thing that God gave me such a grounded husband, because I definitely need him sometimes to bring me back to reality. I love to travel and I will eat pretty much anything just because I love trying new things.

2) According to the Myers-Briggs personality test, I am an INFJ or ENFJ depending on the day (whether I'm feeling introverted or extroverted). Most people believe me to be extremely extroverted because I am very talkative and outgoing, but I very much thrive on my alone time. If you've never taken the Myers-Briggs test, you can take it HERE for free. It is very interesting!

3) I am very much an indoor person. I don't like to get dirty and hiking sounds like my idea of true torture. But I try to push myself to do more outdoorsy things, even though all I end up thinking about are the bugs.

 4) I have a fear of underwater animals which borderlines on phobia. I do fight this, and force myself into bodies of water from time to time, but the whole time I have to do deep breathing exercises. I have no idea where this fear came from.

5) I love to joke around and never really get embarrassed about being silly (thanks to being an exchange student and making all sorts of embarrassing mistakes daily).

As my newest friends, would you share a random fact about yourself? I love learning new things about you all!

  1. You know, many in your list are exactly ME! my random fact: Being a complete germaphobe, I do NOT let my children play in indoor playgrounds which means no chick-fil-a/ mcdonalds playgrounds or that sort of thing EVER. NEVER! too gross. Now we will do outside parks because the hot sun helps sterilize them but indoor-never. :-)

  2. I also hate being in lakes because of the animals in them. I was baptized in a lake and the little fishies were brushing up against my legs the whole time. It was terrible.

My two biggest fears in life are snakes and tornadoes. The littlest snake will send me running in fear (and screaming at the top of my lungs) and thunderstorms or other bad weather that could produce a tornado will send me in to a full blown panic attack.

  3. Cool post and I am totally an indoor girl too! I tend to jump into things without thinking much first...thankfully I have my husband to help balance that out. And I don't fear germs in playgounds so much...but u do fear indoor playground simply because my son was scratched and hit (she even grabbed him around his neck and shook him) by another little girl his size (almost 3 or almost 3) in a chik fil a playground. So mommy still worries when we go places like that. Lol

  4. Too fun!

Random fact = I am a horrible driver. The worst part of it is that I often convince myself that I really am not that bad - then I tend to total another car! Groan. I think it is really all about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.....or at least I like to tell myself that... :)

  5. I am an INFJ too :)

I have a deep fear of whales specifically- but I would never go scuba-diving just in case something touched me :) My family thinks the whale fear is hilarious. Particularly when we go to museums and I hyperventilate if they make me walk under the whale models floating on the roof.

I also LOVE snakes, but am deathly afraid of lizards. I live in a very lizard-y part of the world too ;)

I love to fellowship with others and hear what they have to say. I would ask, however, that you be mindful of what you write and try to be uplifting and respectful. Thank you for sharing!
