Spring Fashion Fun

Oh friends, I am getting a little tired of Winter. I am sure many of you are feeling my pain right now (and if you happen to be somewhere remotely warm, please pretend you can feel my pain). As I brushed snow off my car (again), I began to think back to this time last year. My mother-in-law came to visit last year in early February and remarked how amazingly green the grass was already and how the trees were already getting their buds (earlier than usual around here).

But not this year.

Sigh.

Ok, instead of throwing myself a pity party over this, I am going to perk myself up with pretty, feminine fashion ideas. One of the best things about embracing who God made me to be (and not who society tries to tell me to be), has been embracing femininity in my dress (of course, this can be expressed in many different ways). While I try not to be attention-seeking in what I wear, I do believe God made us as women to be beautiful in our femininity. Allowing yourself to be feminine can be so freeing!

So here are some feminine fashion inspirations to give you hope that your toes may defrost someday!

I love scarves, and wear them very often. I even love scarves when they don't serve to keep me warm, like these:

Scarves are also a great way to cover up a less-modest neckline on your tops. I have been really into seafoam green lately, which makes me really excited about this scarf

To me, fun feminine skirts do so much to make me FEEL feminine. (they also do a great job of reminding me to ACT feminine too!).

Puff sleeves, swans in love on your skirt... swoon.

White/off-white skirts scare me a bit (I am not the most graceful being on the planet), but I love the cut of this one enough to contemplate wearing one (and eating only white-colored things that day to avoid the inevitable stains). Love the lace!

You know that a skirt has to be amazing if you like it just by seeing a photo of the bottom half of it. The eyelet-style cutouts, the ruffles, the color, and the shoes all speak of an old-fashioned femininity

The entire outfit below screams "SPRING!" to me. I would love to own a long floral skirt like that... perhaps a post-baby sewing project?

And lets not forget how fun feminine, pretty accessories can be. I try not to spend much time getting myself ready every morning, so I've learned that throwing on a few accessories can be the key to looking put-together quickly.

I'm really into wearing cardigans, and this lace one would be perfect for fancying-up a simple tee

And the perfect Springtime accessory for a tea-nut like me?

Ok, do you all feel better? I sure do. My mind is zooming trying to figure out how I can make all these ideas work for a maternity wardrobe (And, of course, without spending much money).

You can find all these ideas and more on my Pinterest

  1. These are all beautiful! Now if you could just tell me which thrift store to go to so I can get them all...

I love to fellowship with others and hear what they have to say. I would ask, however, that you be mindful of what you write and try to be uplifting and respectful. Thank you for sharing!
