Jamberry Love

When I first had Victoria last year I was baffled by what to do with my nails. I have very thin, peal-y nails (it's genetic) that break and become very painful and unsightly if I do not keep some sort of nail polish on them. I used to polish my nails once or twice a week when my husband was out of the house (he can't stand the smell), and I called it good.

Then I had Victoria. She rarely slept as a newborn for longer than 20-40 minute stretches, which was barely enough time to get my nails polished much less dried and ready to go (I am not a big fan of fast-dry polishes because they tend to chip sooner).

On top of that, as soon as she was sleeping longer stretches she began to be fascinated with my fingers. I cringed at the idea of her somehow getting my nailpolish chips in her mouth.

So I was very excited last October when a good friend invited me to be a part of a Jamberry party. I had never heard of Jamberries before, but I quickly learned that the are vinyl wraps which are applied to your nails with heat and pressure. They form a water-tight seal on your nails and last up to 2 weeks with no chips. They are also non-toxic and have zero drying time (or stink!), so it was the perfect option for me to try.

So I ordered a sample from my friend. It took me a couple tries to figure out the best application method that allows the wraps to last a long time without any peeling, but I absolutely loved the sample and became hooked.

This was one of my first "jamicures" that conveniently matched my new Kitchenaid

Some of the designs can look a little "loud" for someone who is just starting to use Jamberries from nail polish, but I have found that the longer I use them the more interested I am in using some of the "louder" wraps

Here are some of my past jamicures, all in varying times since application. I tend to go only about 11 days with a single application before I get sick of the outgrowth

Jamberries can be applied to either fingers or toes (although I have yet to try my toes), and 1 sheet is enough for 2 manicures and 2 pedicures with a few extras left over to use as accent nails. 1 sheet costs $15, and you can get the sheets buy 3 get 1 free. It is more expensive than nail polish, but it is also much more durable and protects my nails so well. I do all my normal dish washing and other chores with these wraps with no issues. To me, the price is worth it just in how well they protect my thin nails and keep them from breaking.

Plus, what busy mom doesn't get a little pick-me-up when she knows at least her nails look put-together?

I also hosted a party back several months ago on facebook that was a ton of fun. I've never been a part of a facebook party that was actually fun before! But this one was. As a result I was able to get a lot of wraps for free (something like 15 sheets!).

My good friend Courtney is a consultant for Jamberry. She has not asked me to endorse her here on my blog, so this is completely of my own free will that I am telling you about Jamberry and Courtney.

After writing this post I asked Courtney if she would be willing to offer a giveaway to you all, and she said YES! So please check out and enter the giveaway HERE, where you can win some jamberries of your own choosing as well as a mini- application kit and moisturizer.

Have any of you tried Jamberry before? How was your experience? Courtney was so helpful with giving me application tips so I get a perfect application every time. You can check out her website http://www.courtneyrenee.jamberrynails.net/

  3. They look great. I would get so frustrated with polish because it just chips. I will have to give this a try!

  4. Thanks for the review Amy! I've been wanting to try these, as I love color on my nails, but cannot stand the chipping from constant dish washing. I'll have to try them very soon. :)

    Have a wonderful day!

  5. Awesome!!! I love Jamberry (I'm a consultant), and I LOVE seeing Jam-love from people!!! With applications as flawless as yours, you should be selling! I bet your friend would love you to join her team. ;)

But seriously, I love that you matched Iced to your Kitchenaid lol. That wrap is SO pretty, especially when paired with the December Sisters' Style Exclusive, First Frost.
