Our Family Photos 2015

We had family photos taken a few weeks ago and MY was it an adventure! Last year we had photos taken in October, so I decided we will have photos taken every October so that I can be sure to document our family every year. So I set the date to get our photos taken by a family friend, and then something big happened:

This sweet girl joined our family!
Meet Ginny, our Australian Labradoodle! We have been hoping to get a dog for a long time, but we simply didn't want to do it while living in an apartment. Now that we are in a house, we felt this was the perfect time, since we aren't yet pregnant with another baby.

Although I have a heart for adoption when it comes to dogs, we decided that raising a puppy with a breed we know and love would be better for us while we have small children. We decided we wanted an Australian Labradoodle because 2 people in my family have them and they are THE perfect dog breed for families with young children. This dog breed was specifically made to be the perfect family dog, and they are!

The only downside is that this breed is quite expensive, so we had contacted a local breeder about becoming a guardian family for one of their breeding dogs. Essentially the dog is ours but they have breeding rights to her for the first few years of her life. We had been in limbo waiting to hear back from them for a while, but finally we heard from them the day before our photos were to be taken! We went and picked up our 8 week old darling and have been loving on her ever since.

That meant that she got to be a part of our family photos! But the circus that took place while taking those photos.... oh goodness. You can only imagine how interesting it was with a 16 month old and an 8 week old puppy!

Luckily we got a few good shots:

Do you get family photos taken? I love having the annual reminder of where we were just a short year ago verses now!

  1. Awww... Ginny is precious! And your family photos are GOREGEOUS! I particularly like the one where you are all walking away, with Ginny right behind and the one where Victoria is running from you. Cute! :D

    Have a wonderfully blessed day!

I love to fellowship with others and hear what they have to say. I would ask, however, that you be mindful of what you write and try to be uplifting and respectful. Thank you for sharing!
