I absolutely LOVE this quote! I have had it written on a little post-in note for weeks, waiting to share it. As my husband and I are working through Jim Sammons's Financial Freedom seminar, we are learning the importance or staying out of debt. This is a very difficult principle to stick with, especially with everyone around us keeps asking when we will buy a home.
We are slowly learning God's principles for having children as well, and are trying to reject modern views of child-bearing. This is difficult, especially when society equates having a house and debt as being fit to be a parent.
Doug Phillips has such a way with words.
ReplyDeleteWe don't own a home, but have been blessed twice (and one more on the way) with children. I have felt nothing but blessed along the way and couldn't imagine having a huge debt over my head. Financial stress is huge on young marriages so why do we expect people to run straight into it?
