It is just 5 weeks and 5 days until my half-marathon race. The only thing I can think is: I'm not ready!
I am very far from being able to run 13.1 miles. I am trying to just continue to improve. I am, after all, running further than I've ever run in my life.
The pain I experienced in the beginning seems to have eased and I am no longer limping along. I think it took a while for my bones to get used to the impact of running. I would get this odd throbbing pain from my hips down every time I ran. I ended up having to take it easy for 2 weeks doing non-impact cardio to keep myself going. Thank GOD that pain has passed!
Last night I went to a lake nearby that has a 1.2 mile track around it. I ran around it 3 times and only walked about half a mile of it. I was quite proud of myself, as 3 miles is progress from my last blog about my training!
My husband also ran with me last night and he did quite well. I just so love spending time with him. Last night as we were falling asleep, I prayed another prayer thanking God for giving me such a wonderful man.
That's fantastic your going to run a half marathon! Great going! :D I wish that I could run, it's so much fun and oh so addicting. But unfortunatly with a bad back, the doctor told me to stick to walking. :( I'm thankful for what I can do though. :) So happy for the LORD's blessings in your life. :D
